An Epidemiological and Bacteriological Study on Salmonella typhi Isolated from the Patients Provincial City and its nearby areas in Kyung Sang Nam-Do

Abstract
|
|
|
During the period of 1985 and 1986, the author attempted to find out of 62 cultures of Salmonella typhi in a region of Kyung Sang Nam-Do by means of epidemilogical and bacteriological examination, and found the results as below.
1 . All Salmonella typhi demonstrated typical biochemical properties not considered variants.
2 . In the seasonal distribution of Salmonella typhi cultures detected every month in which December was highest incidence (11 cultures) but, February was the lowest (2 cultures).
3 . Occurence on age showed whole age that the younger than 10 years was most highest (16 cultures) was concerned.
4 . Occurence on sex showed for male (33 cultures) in relatively higher than female (29 cultures) .
5 . Antibiotic susceptibility performed by means of Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method shown to be resistant to 5 culures of chloramphenicol and 4 cultures of ampicillin, tetracvcline, others gentamycin, kanamycin, tobramycin were sensitive higher than 95%.
